The Life Story of Hook Family
Hu Kejia, a native of Poyang (present-day Jiangxi), was a scholar in Qianlong for forty-five years (1780), moved to Jiangsu in Jiaqing for eleven years (1806), served as an envoy of the imperial court for fourteen years (1809) and seventeen years (18655). Hu is enthusiastic about collating books, and once personally collated rare books such as Tong Jian to prove similarities and differences. Song Wenxuan reprinted by Peng Zhaosun in Taicang is highly valued by people. Qian Taiji's Miscellaneous Notes on Exposing Books said: Hu Kejia carved Selected Works in the 14th year of Jiaqing (1809), and researched ten volumes, which were written by Yuan Hegu and True Sun. They are both well organized, and their differences are quite detailed. Based on the engraving of Xin and Chou You Yan in Guichi, supplemented by Yuan's Wu Liu Chen Ben and Chen's Chaling Liu Chen Ben, this paper collates their similarities and differences, and lists in detail the school motto language of He Chao's Zhan He, which is dialectical.
