2. Simatai Great Wall is located in the north of Miyun District in the northeast of Beijing, north of Simatai Village in Gubeikou Town, adjacent to Gubeishui Town, and 0/20km away from Beijing/kloc. It belongs to the Yanshan Mountains. The Simatai Great Wall, built on the mountain, is famous for its five characteristics: danger, density, uniformity, cleverness and completeness.

The Simatai Great Wall starts from wangjinglou in the east and ends at Houchuankou in the west, with a total length of 5.7 kilometers. Yuanyang Lake Reservoir divides the Great Wall into two parts. There are 35 enemy towers 16 in the eastern section and 9 enemy towers 19 in the western section (one of them was destroyed in the water). 1987 simatai great wall is listed in the world heritage list, and it is the only ancient architectural site in China that preserves the original appearance of the Ming dynasty, and is recognized as the "original great wall" by UNESCO.

4. Luo Zeng, a famous ancient architect in China, once commented that "China Great Wall is the best in the world, and Simatai Great Wall is the best in China".

In May 20th12, Simatai Great Wall was rated as "the first of the 25 scenic spots that can't be missed in the world" by the British Times.
