As the reorganization divisions of the Second Enemy Corps arrived in batches, they opened a long snake array, which created a good opportunity for our army to divide and conquer one by one. Liu Deng's main force immediately deployed 1 longitudinal and 6-longitudinal to annihilate the entire 32nd Division, and 2-longitudinal and 3-longitudinal to besiege the entire 66th Division. Other ministries were responsible for separating the contact behind the enemy lines and resisting. However, the attack of Yangshan reorganization 66 division was in trouble. This unit was adapted from the "Civil" 66 Army, with the same Japanese equipment, more veterans and stronger combat effectiveness. Relying on the favorable terrain of Yangshan, the division fought fiercely for seven days from 15 to 22, but our army still couldn't eat the whole 66th division, resulting in heavy casualties. At the same time, it is very difficult to attack because of the continuous heavy rain.

Chiang Kai-shek visited Kaifeng to declare war. In addition to ordering Song Ruike to defend his position, he also ordered the remaining two BGF divisions of the Second Corps of Wang Jingjiu to reinforce in the north. At the same time, seven reorganization divisions in Xi, Luoyang and Luzhong, as well as 206 divisions of the Youth Army, cavalry 1 brigade, totaling more than 65,438+10,000 troops, were mobilized to form the Fourth Corps. Wang Zhonglian is directing the rescue of Yangshanji in a unified way, in an attempt to rally our main force in southwest Shandong, at least forcing our army to step down.

In this way, the situation of the Shanxi-Hebei-Shandong-Henan field army suddenly became critical. If the whole 66th Division cannot be solved in a short time, the whole army may be surrounded by the enemy and be in a passive position. On the 22nd, Commander Liu personally went to the front to observe, and was very angry with the attacking column regardless of the terrain: "Destroying 3,000 people, losing 800 people, playing too foolishly", demanding that troops and firepower be redeployed before attacking.

However, despite the large number of reinforcements, the national army is like a snail, or blocked, or on the road, or watching. The battle of Yangshan is very similar to the battle of Menglianggu two months ago. Surrounded by the enemy, our army resolutely wiped out one of them, thus winning a great victory in the southwest Shandong campaign. In addition to the PLA's bravery, poor cooperation and rescue among various ministries of the national army is also an important factor. Although Song Ruike almost set a record for the longest time that a national army unit insisted on field defense, defending for 14 days, it was still destroyed by the inaction of teammates.
