Cao E's father, Cao Xu, is a wizard. He personally presides over sacrifices every day.
May 5, the second year of Han 'an in the Eastern Han Dynasty, is the annual Dragon Boat Festival. Cao sailed in Shunjiang to meet Wu Jun, the god of tides. Unexpectedly, he accidentally fell into the river and did not see his body for several days.
Cao E was only 14 years old when Cao Xu had an accident. When she heard the bad news of her father's plane crash, Cao E was extremely sad. In order to find her father's body, she searched by the river day and night, but never found it.
Seventeen days later, Cao E came to the river again. She was silent for a while, then jumped into the river without hesitation. The river is too fast for people to save her.
Five days later, Cao E's body floated up and people saw her body holding her father's body. She finally found her father, even though she paid the price of her life!
The story of filial piety to her daughter Cao E touched countless people. In memory of Cao E, people renamed the river where Cao E drowned as Cao E River.
Later, Shang, the magistrate of Shangyu County, was moved by what he had heard, so he ordered someone to rebury him by the road in the south of the Yangtze River, and asked his protege Han Danchun to make a memorial speech and carve a stone to show his filial piety.
At the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, the wizard Cai Yong made a special trip to visit. It was already evening when he arrived, and he felt and read the contents of the inscription. Finally, he wrote eight words on the tablet: "The grandson of the yellow silk young woman (jο) mortar". This is a riddle, and the answer is a wonderful speech.
Dynasty changes, in the Song Dynasty, in order to promote filial piety and praise Cao E, Song Zhezong also specially built a tall and brilliant Cao E main hall; Song Huizong nominated Cao E as Mrs. Ling Xiao.
In the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Yuanzhang, the great ancestor of Ming Dynasty, also heard about Cao E's deeds. He sent court officials to visit Cao E and asked Liu Bowen to write the obituary himself.
In the Qing Dynasty, Emperor Jiaqing named Cao E Mrs. Fu Ying; Emperor Tongzhi added Cao E as the wife of inspiration and gave a plaque of "Cao Jiang Blessing".
The fifth day of May is the Dragon Boat Festival every year. Because Cao E's deeds happened in the Dragon Boat Festival, later generations commemorated Cao E in the Dragon Boat Festival. However, as we all know, the Dragon Boat Festival is also to commemorate the famous patriotic poet Qu Yuan. Besides Qu Yuan, there are Wu Zixu, meson tui and others. Their stories are very touching, but most people only know that the Dragon Boat Festival is to commemorate Qu Yuan.
In fact, Cao E's behavior has different explanations from different angles. Her father died unexpectedly, and she was so sad that she jumped into the river and committed suicide. China has advocated filial piety since ancient times, and the rulers also emphasized filial piety. Cao E's deeds are just a model of filial piety, which is very thought-provoking, so they spare no effort to publicize Cao E's deeds and make Cao E completely famous and truly immortal.
However, from the perspective of Cao E's dead father, this is another view. Which parent doesn't want their children to be safe? Cao E's father must wish Cao E a good life! If you are healthy, you will be respected by your parents. Life is precious, and cherishing life is the minimum respect for life.
