Pan Tianshou's former residence is in Guanzhuang Village and he was born in Dongshou Mansion. It took Pan Tianshou more than ten years to be admitted to Zhejiang No.1 Normal University. Pan Tianshou 1920 graduated and returned to his hometown to teach, where he got married. 1923 left home for Shanghai, 1928 settled in Hangzhou and rarely came back. Until 1962, Pan Tianshou visited Ninghai as a representative of the National People's Congress, and once caught up with the villagers here. Up to now, Pan Tianshou's former residence is well preserved.
Pan Tianshou stepped out of this small quadrangle and became a master of Chinese painting. In his youth, he wrote and engraved such a couplet with a knife, saying, "Wild geese plant millet, and the grain is abundant, and Huaiqizhen is employed as a bench" to ease his ambition. He is another master of art in the history of modern painting in China after Wu Changshuo and Qi Baishi, and enjoys a high reputation at home and abroad. He is not only high in painting, high in character, open-minded, well-known, dignified in nature, but also simple in attitude, and has always maintained the rule of direct complaint, and later he no longer cares.
Mr. Pan's Chinese painting has profound attainments, has a profound and comprehensive traditional foundation, absorbs the essence from others, and then develops his own personality and unique talent, creating his own unique way. He gave full play to the line-based characteristics of Chinese painting, and used the calligraphy techniques of "missing marks" and "breaking the thread" for reference. His brushwork is vigorous and powerful, he pays attention to the contrast between black and white with ink, and his composition is rough and bold, with appropriate density. Mr. Wang's paintings are a masterpiece of all things, breaking thousands of strange dangers. The works are magnificent and magnificent; Make people read his portrait, read the world, look at his portrait and look at the sky. Good at freehand brushwork, flowers and birds, landscape painting. He studied under Xu Wei, Yuan Ji (Shi Tao) and others, and was recently influenced by Wu Changshuo. His layout is good at "creating danger" and "breaking danger". His pen and ink are rich in stone, simple and vigorous, magnificent and colorful. His works are a collection of poems, books, paintings and prints, forming his own style. The mountains, rivers, plants, birds, animals, insects and fish in his works are full of vigorous and tenacious vitality, vigorous and poetic; Refers to the unique circle of ink painting, which is gloomy and magnificent in Gu Zhuo; Calligraphy style is bold and simple, it is really cursive, and it is all refined. Throughout his life, Mr. Wang shared weal and woe, was not afraid of being frightened, solved his sufferings with pen and ink, and laughed proudly at the world, all of which can be seen from his works. Mr. Wang is also proficient in painting history and painting theory, and has written such works as History of Painting in China, Examination of China Painting Academy and History of Calligraphy in China. He has been engaged in teaching Chinese painting all his life and made outstanding contributions to the development of art education in China.
