Select [Universal and Save] in the right tab of the options dialog box, and you can see that the default file saving format of WPS table is (such as Microsoft Excel file (*). Xlsx)), as shown in the figure below:
Click the expand button in the lower right corner of the option box, and you can see that there are three options for the default format of document saving, namely WPS table file (*. Et), Microsoft Excel file (*. Xlsx) and Microsoft Excel 97-2003 files (*. xls)。 These three formats are the mainstream form file types at present. After selecting the appropriate file to save the default format, click [OK] to set it.
The differences among the three default format types for document saving are as follows:
. Et is a format for saving WPS files, which is mainly suitable for WPS office.
. Xlsx is the latest workbook suffix, which is mainly applicable to Microsoft Excel 2007 and above.
. Xls is mainly suitable for Microsoft Excel 97-2003.
From the diagram of Microsoft Excel version, we can see which version is updated more. Excel high version documents can be saved in low version format, but some high versions cannot be saved. When you do this, Excel will display a [Compatibility Checker] prompt box to remind you whether to continue the operation. You only need to make a choice according to your own needs.
