Lingqiu is located in the northeast of Shanxi Province, bordering Laiyuan and Yuxian in Hebei Province in the east, Fuping in the south, Fan Shi and Hunyuan in the west and Guangling in the north. The total area is 2732 square kilometers, and the mountainous area accounts for 87.6%.
The territory is high in the northwest, low in the southeast and relatively flat in the middle. The county seat is 700 ~ 2234 meters above sea level, and the highest Taibai Weishan is 2234 meters above sea level. There are Zhaobei River, Tanghe River, Shangzhai River, Ranzhuang River and Duyu River in the territory.
Lingqiu County has a mild climate, with an average annual temperature of 6.9℃, a frost-free period of 150 days and a precipitation of 432 mm. The main food crops are corn, millet, millet, yam eggs, naked oats and beans. Lingqiu mountains are continuous, ravines are vertical and horizontal, and mineral resources are rich. More than 20 kinds of metallic minerals such as gold, silver, copper and iron 10 and non-metallic minerals such as coal, phosphorus, sulfur, asbestos, perlite, granite and marble have been proved. Non-metallic minerals, especially granite, marble, asbestos and perlite, have the best reserves. There are many kinds of granites, such as Ji Hong in Guangxi (G 1828), orange red (G 1829), pockmarked white, green and black flowers, etc., which are gorgeous in color and excellent in texture, and can be compared with precious granites in Italy, India and other countries.
The tourism resources of Lingqiu County include Jueshan Temple, which is located about 5 kilometers south of the county seat. Built in the Northern Wei Dynasty (about 1450 years ago), it has a brick structure with a height of 13 floors. It is a provincial key protected cultural relic. The site of Pingxingguan Campaign, a national key cultural relic protection unit, is a famous revolutionary tourist attraction at home and abroad. Since ancient times, the tomb of King Wuling of Zhao has been a place for literati to mourn and remember the past. There are also natural tourist attractions such as censer stone, flower pagoda and Jiulaogou, and there are natural hunting grounds in the south and north mountains.
