19 17 graduated from Changting Provincial No.7 Middle School.
1965438+In the spring of 2008, I went to Beijing National Institute of Technology to study applied chemistry.
192 1 graduated, and stayed in school to teach because of outstanding achievements, and obtained a bachelor's degree in engineering.
From 65438 to 0924, he went to study in Chicago, USA, and successively studied in the Department of Ceramic Engineering and Evian College of Illinois University, and obtained a master's degree in his graduation thesis "Good quality and low price ceramics suitable for China manufacturing".
1926 transferred to the Department of Chemistry of the University of Pittsburgh to study glass technology with Professor A.Si 1verman, a famous glass expert, and obtained a doctorate in the article "Making Beryllium Glass", and worked as a research assistant in the Graduate School of the University of Pittsburgh 1 year.
From 65438 to 0928, Lai Qifang received a research grant from China Education and Culture Foundation and became a researcher in the United States. He continued to study beryllium glass in the United States, and returned to China two years later as the director of the kiln laboratory of the Chemical Group of China Industrial Laboratory.
From 65438 to 0933, Lai Qifang returned to Shanghai from Nanjing. At the invitation of Mr. Cai Yuanpei, President of Academia Sinica, he worked as a researcher in the Institute of Chemistry and the Academy of Engineering of Academia Sinica successively, and developed various special application glasses, and successfully trial-produced various industrial application glasses, including chemical instrument glasses and crystal-transparent glasses. During this period, he also served as the technical consultant of China Kiln Company, Central Chemical Glass Factory, Scientific Chemical Factory and Xinya Glass Factory, and made great contributions to the development of national glass industry in China.
From 65438 to 0935, Lai Qifang moved to Kunming with the Institute of Engineering of Academia Sinica to develop medical glass and instrument glass.
1945 returned to Shanghai to build a laboratory after the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, and did a lot of work in improving special glass such as thermometer, water column meter and syringe glass.
From 65438 to 0949, after the liberation of China, Lai served as the director of the pottery group of Shanghai Industrial Laboratory, and conducted research on chemical porcelain and industrial porcelain. He instructed all potters to cooperate with Shanghai Glass Factory, and successfully trial-produced chemical instrument glass, neutral ampoule glass, thermometer glass, lead glass for X-ray machine, glass electrode for acidity meter, instrument glass for lamp, funnel glass for bacteria filtration and other products, which solved the urgent need of industry, medicine and medical equipment at that time and won the title of advanced producer of Shanghai Glass Factory.
65438-0953, Lai went to North Korea with the Design Institute of the Ministry of Light Industry to help design the glass factory. The following year provided information for Sino-German technical cooperation and summarized Jingdezhen porcelain-making technology. Later, he studied and guided the restoration of Jingdezhen porcelain and the production of Zhejiang Longquan celadon.
From 65438 to 0956, Lai served as the deputy head of the light industry group and silicate group of the State Science and Technology Commission, and participated in the formulation of 12 national science and technology development plan and national industrial development plan.
1In August, 956, he served as the first director and first-class engineer of the Silicate Research Institute of the Ministry of Light Industry (predecessor of the Glass Enamel Research Institute of the Ministry of Light Industry).
1956 65438+On February 2nd, he was elected as the director of the Preparatory Committee of China Silicate Society.
1958 concurrently serves as the head of the Department of Chemistry of Beijing Institute of Light Industry (now Beijing Technology and Business University).
1978, Lai Qifang, then 80 years old, accepted the appointment of the State Science and Technology Commission as the deputy head of the professional group of inorganic nonmetallic materials. After retiring to the second line in August of the same year, he was hired as a consultant of the Institute of Glass and Enamel Science.
1985 died in Shanghai on June 28th.
