Tongren tianfa resume
Mei was a native of Tongren, Guizhou in the Qing Dynasty. Light-years of the Qing Dynasty (A.D. 182 1- 1850). Because of his hatred of exorbitant taxes, Xianfeng and Xu Tingjie led an uprising in Tongren in the fifth year (AD 1855), captured Tongren Wenwu yamen and killed the magistrate. Then, in response to Liu Shimei in Jiangkou and Tian Zongda in Yinjiang, they led the people's uprising again. They are called the Red Army under the slogan of "opposing the levy" and wearing red scarves. Mei is one of the leaders of the Red Army. The morale of the Red Army was greatly boosted, and it even entered the towns of Songtao, Sinan, Shiqian, Yinjiang, Yuping and Qingxi, and marched into Hunan, with more than 10,000 volunteers. In the first month of the sixth year of Xianfeng (A.D. 1856), the Xiang army fought fiercely to capture Tongren, and both Xu Tingjie and Mei died heroically.

The insurgents successively captured Tongren, Songtao, Sinan, Shiqian, Yinjiang, Yuping and Qingxi in Hunan, as well as Fenghuang, Huangzhou, Yuanzhou in Hunan and Xiushan in Sichuan. In the first month of the sixth year of Xianfeng (AD 1856), the Qing government sent Xiang troops to attack Tongren, and Xu Tingjie died. The struggle failed, and the rest were transferred to the White Army.
