Cha, formerly known as Silian, was named Xia Chong, and later changed his name to He Shan and Chu Bai. Born in the seventh year of Shunzhi in Qing Dynasty, he died in the fifth year of Yongzheng. Haining (now Zhejiang) people. In the thirty-second year of Kangxi, he took part in the provincial examination in Shuntian and became famous in Kyoto.
