1998, Xijiu was formally merged into Maotai Group and became its wholly-owned subsidiary. This merger marks that Xijiu has become a part of Maotai Group. In July 2022, Maotai Group further transferred 82% of its shares in Xijiu to the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Guizhou Province, which indicated that the management of Xijiu had changed, but Xijiu was still an important member of Maotai Group. In April 2023, Xijiu announced its official independent operation. Although it is no longer a subsidiary of Maotai Group, there is still a close relationship between them. In August, 2023, Xijiu Investment Holding Group was formally established, which marked the development of Xijiu entered a new stage. As an independent state-owned enterprise, Xijiu continued to play an important role in China liquor industry. Xijiu, which originated from Xijiu Town, Xishui County, Guizhou Province, is a specialty with chinese national geography logo. Since 1952 was founded by Zou, deputy director of Maotai Distillery, on the basis of Yin and Luo wine workshops in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Xijiu Company has always adhered to quality and regarded it as the spiritual belief and value pursuit of the enterprise.
