huanglong valley
Located at Xuebaoding, the main peak of Minshan Mountain, next to Fuyuan Bridge at the source of Fujiang River, it is a gentle slope valley with a length of 7.5km and a width of1.5km.. The valley is covered with milky yellow rocks, which looks like Huanglong from a distance, hence the name Huanglong Valley. In the Ming Dynasty (A.D. 1368 ~ 168), Huanglonggou was famous at home and abroad for its "strange, unique, beautiful and secluded" natural landscape. It is very similar to the image of "dragon" in China people's minds. Tibetans call it "East Risercuo", which means the conch mountain in the east (referring to Xuebaoding) and the golden Haizi (referring to Huanglonggou), following the annual grand occasion.
