Su Yu (1907- 1984), formerly known as Su Duozhen, was born in Huitong, Hunan. China proletarian revolutionist and strategist, the main force of China People's Liberation Army, and the top ten generals of People's Republic of China (PRC) (PRC).
1927 joined China * * *, participated in the Nanchang Uprising, and later entered Jinggangshan, where he participated in all previous anti-encirclement campaigns and all five anti-encirclement campaigns. Stay in the south to organize guerrilla warfare during the Long March. During his stay in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, he served as deputy commander of the second detachment of the New Fourth Army, deputy commander of Jiangnan Command and Subei Command, and served as the first division commander of the New Fourth Army at 194 1, and later as the sixth division commander. During the Second Civil War between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party, he served as the commander of the Central China Field Army, the deputy commander of the East China Field Army, the acting commander and the acting political commissar, and mainly commanded Gaoyou Campaign, Xuzhou-Haizhou Section of Longhai Line, Suzhong Campaign, Menglianggu Campaign, Jinan Campaign, Huaihai Campaign, Crossing the River Campaign, Shanghai Campaign and so on. After the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC), he successively served as the Chief of Staff of the People's Liberation Army of China, the Standing Committee of the Central Military Commission of China and the Vice Chairman of the Fifth National People's Congress.
1955 was awarded the rank of general on September 27th, and was awarded the 1st Class August 1st Medal, 1st Class Medal of Independence and Freedom, and 1st Class Medal of Liberation.
