Angry Beasts is a sci-fi film produced by New Line Film Company, directed by brad peyton and co-starring dwayne douglas johnson, naomie harris, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, malin akerman, Jake Lacy and joe manganiello. The film was released simultaneously in Chinese mainland and the United States on April 18, 2008 in 2D, 3D, IMAX 3D and Chinese giant screen format.
Based on arcade game's "Gorilla Demolition" in 1980s, the film tells the story of the failure of high-tech equipment in the laboratory, which caused satellites to fall to all parts of the United States, creating three mutant monsters: orangutans, crocodiles and wolves, and starting to attack cities. Davis Okoje, a former marine, stepped forward to protect the city and single-handedly confront the three monsters.
Film Review of Angry Beasts
The film not only adds the emotional element of protecting the closest relatives and friends as the main axis of the story, but also the characters of several main characters in the film are very distinct, which complements the plot lacking in the game.
The special effects of the film are more impactful with the addition of the IMAX big screen, which makes the audience feel as if bullets and flames are in front of them, and the realistic special effects are even more shocking on the IMAX big screen. The mutated behemoth is huge in size and unprecedented in destructive power. On the high-definition and high-brightness IMAX screen, it is even more daunting, with a sense of urgency, and even makes people want to dodge.
The movie is grand but lengthy, but it is also entertaining if it can succumb to the charm of the hero. Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who plays agent Russell, accurately controlled the timing of the comedy, and he made this movie which basically only destroyed the scene more attractive to the audience.
