Tonga is 650km west of Fiji and southwest of New Zealand1770km. As of 20 17, Tongan language and English are widely used in Tonga with a population of 108000 [1]. Nuku 'alofa, the capital, is located on Tonga Tabu, the largest island. The land area is 747 square kilometers, and the marine exclusive economic zone covers an area of 700,000 square kilometers.
1845, the kingdom of Tonga was formed by the union of several islands. 1875 implemented a constitutional monarchy, 1900 became a British protectorate, 1970 became independent on June 4, and became a member of the Commonwealth and the188th member of the United Nations. On July 29th, 2008, King george tupou v of Tonga said that he would hand over power to the National Assembly, give up power and move towards democracy, but still retain the constitutional monarchy. He is the only country in the South Pacific that maintains a monarchy.
