Modern Chinese is a compulsory course and a degree course for students majoring in Chinese as a foreign language and Chinese language and literature. Modern Chinese plays an important role in these two majors. It is a basic and instrumental course for Chinese-related majors. Modern Chinese course mainly teaches the nature, formation and development of modern Chinese, including the basic contents of modern Chinese pronunciation (phonology), vocabulary (semantics), grammar, rhetoric, modern Chinese characters and so on. Through the teaching of modern Chinese, students can master the basic knowledge and theory of the Chinese language, cultivate their love for the Chinese language, use the Chinese language correctly and standardly, and enhance and improve the standardization consciousness of modern Chinese. At the same time, through the study of modern Chinese, they can serve the students who are engaged in teaching Chinese as a foreign language in the future. The purpose of ancient Chinese teaching is to cultivate students' ability to read ancient books and lay a solid language foundation for inheriting excellent ancient cultural heritage. Classical Chinese is the most basic written language form used in China ancient literature, and it is the research object of this course. The course structure of Ancient Chinese is divided into two parts: anthology and general theory. The anthology is mainly prose, and works from the Spring and Autumn Period to the Han Dynasty are selected. General theory, including phonetics, vocabulary, writing, grammar, ancient annotations, etc. , is the basic knowledge with universal significance necessary to master ancient Chinese. By explaining characters, words, sentences, articles and related language, writing and cultural knowledge, the mastery and application of ancient Chinese are promoted with typical articles. In the general part, students are required to master a certain number of common words and ancient Chinese idioms through learning, master some basic laws of ancient Chinese language and characters through basic training, and master some specific methods of comparing ancient and modern language knowledge to improve their reading ability of classical Chinese.

Introduction to linguistics

Introduction to linguistics is a theoretical course in language courses, which has the characteristics of wide knowledge, large amount of information and high abstraction. The teaching purpose of this course is to cultivate students' language literacy, language theoretical thinking ability and thesis writing ability. This course requires students to master the basic concepts, theories and methods of linguistics. The teaching contents of this course include the classification of linguistics, world languages and language types, the essence of language, the origin and evolution of language, phonetics, semantics, grammar, philology, pragmatics and linguistic schools. The teaching focus of this course is the essence of language and the research methods of language. The course of ancient literature in China is divided into literature history and works selection. Combined with the social and cultural development background of China, the course systematically teaches the literature development history of pre-Qin, Qin and Han Dynasties, Wei and Jin Dynasties, Southern and Northern Dynasties, Sui and Tang Dynasties, Song Dynasty, Yuan Dynasty, Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty, focusing on the characteristics of China literature in each period, so that students can initially form the academic concept of literary historical materials and learn from classic works of many genres, such as poetry, prose, ci, novels, ci, folk songs, opera and literary criticism.

Modern and Contemporary Chinese Literature

The course of modern and contemporary literature in China is also divided into literature history and works selection. The course should enable students to have a deeper understanding of important writers and works in modern and contemporary literature in China, a clearer understanding of important thoughts, schools and literary phenomena in modern and contemporary literature in China, and a more systematic grasp of the appearance and internal reasons for the development of modern and contemporary literature in China. This course attempts to systematically sort out the origin and development of modern and contemporary literature in China from the perspective of time and space at home and abroad, and presents an overview of modern and contemporary literature in China with the main thoughts and works of ordinary writers in different periods and the works of important writers in different periods as the main line.
