Specializing in the research of forestry plant pathology, classification of myxomycetes and fungi, and diseases of rice, wheat and cotton crops in China. After the founding of New China, under his initiative, edible and medicinal fungi were cultivated artificially, and the scientific research results of biological control were successfully used to control forest pests in a large area, which created a precedent for mycology in China. The four new genera and 120 new varieties he discovered are internationally recognized and included in the Dictionary of Fungi compiled by the British Institute of Fungology. Biographical notes

Associate Professor Tsinghua University, First-class Professor of Beijing Agricultural University, Director of Plant Pathology. He used to be a member of the National People's Congress Standing Committee (NPCSC), a member of the Education, Culture and Health Committee of the National People's Congress, a vice chairman of the China Association for Science and Technology, a chairman of the China Society of Plant Pathology, a chairman of the China Society of Fungi, and a director of the International Society of Plant Pathology. He was selected into the International Who's Who and was elected as the vice chairman of the management committee of the International Biography Center. Studies on the classification, physiology and cultivation of fungi began in the 1940s, and studies on plant virology and biological diagnosis were also carried out in the 1950s. On the basis of virus pathology and control of Cruciferae and Solanaceae vegetable crops, a lot of pioneering work has been done: large-scale control experiments have been done on the causes, epidemic laws and measures to prevent and increase production of three major diseases of Chinese cabbage in Beijing and wheat dwarf disease in North China. In addition, the theoretical basis for the feasibility of developing antiviral inducer was put forward, and NS-83 antiviral agent was developed to inhibit tomato and tobacco virus diseases, which was widely popularized in production. The research on its mechanism won the first prize of technical progress of the State Education Commission and the third prize of the National Natural Science Award. Complete the first monograph on plant virology in China. In mycology, he was one of the first people to find heterokaryon in the world. He has also made outstanding contributions to the classification and cultivation of edible fungi. His main works include Agricultural Plant Pathology, Plant Virology, Edible Mushrooms and Their Cultivation in China, Studies on Three Diseases of Chinese Cabbage in China, Development, Mechanism and Application of Plant Induced Resistance and 83 Resistance Enhancer, China Filamentous Virus and Its Diseases, and Random Talk on Plant Diseases in Agricultural Gardens.

Plant pathologist. People from Longyan, Fujian. 1958 graduated from Fujian Agricultural College. Professor, Fujian Agricultural University. The species, distribution, harm, spread prediction and treatment of rice virus in China were systematically studied, and the results were praised as "making new contributions to the world virus". The discovery of a new rice virus, Rice Shrub Dwarf Virus, has aroused great concern in the international rice disease community. The reported rice dwarf virus and Oriental Gru virus are new records in China. The timely discovery of the three diseases effectively controlled their spread and achieved good economic and social benefits; The virus species, distribution, occurrence and control measures of narcissus, sugarcane, Fujian tobacco, tomato and banana in China were comprehensively studied, and 9 new records in China and 5 new records in Chinese mainland were reported.

199 1 was elected as an academician of China Academy of Sciences.
