The spirit of freehand brushwork can be seen in her first meticulous painting A Triple Picture. Her meticulous paintings, such as "Living in a Painting Screen" and "Home", all incorporate the vocabulary of ink and wash, and naturally persist. Her freehand oil painting "River in My Hometown" and 1987' s "Tour" which won the meticulous painting award are the same theme, but the former is more exciting. Because the composition of River in Hometown is more concentrated, it shows the freedom and cuteness of rural children more prominently. The technique of "River Water" is more ethereal than "Water in the Blue", which takes emptiness as reality and blank as water. The rhythm arrangement of buffalo and village children, especially the image of urchin who catches the cow's tail and urges the cow to catch up quickly, highlights the subtlety of artistic treatment.

Zhu Licun first painted freehand brushwork and then meticulous brushwork, and meticulous brushwork returned to freehand brushwork, which not only shows that she is good at both writing and writing, but also shows that the advantages of both writing and working can complement each other. There is work in writing and work in writing, which embodies the artistic characteristics of Zhu Licun's painting creation. It is worth noting that Zhu Licun's freehand brushwork in ink and wash still maintains the creative path of discovering beauty from life and processing and creating beauty in art. From her series of works, we can find that the author's aesthetic excitement is emotional, avoiding empty pen-and-ink games.

Entering the era of contemporary economic globalization, the transformation of social economy and culture has sprouted more new things and produced more acute contradictions. The vast social life provides an incomparable wealth of creative resources for painters. I wish painters can keep pace with the times and continue to create more real and moving works.

achievements of art

Art world

There are many outstanding female painters in contemporary China, and Zhu Licun is one of them. She was not only selected for the fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth national art exhibitions in succession, but also won numerous awards. This is rare among Chinese painters, especially female painters.

Her new works are novel in form, full of the fragrance of dew and earth, which clearly reflects the changes of the times and life and often gives people fresh aesthetic stimulation.

Zhu Licun studied in the middle school attached to the Central Academy of Fine Arts in his early years and was recommended to the Chinese Painting Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts for his excellent academic performance. By the time she 1964 graduated, she had laid a solid foundation for her later creation. At the beginning of reform and opening up, Zhu Licun created "a map on foot".

The spring breeze after the severe winter and the light at dawn fully show the painter's sensitivity to the times and outstanding artistic talent. Zhu Licun skillfully created the image of a "drunken girl" with strong drunkenness, which is similar to the body language of dance and vividly conveys the pleasure of physical and mental liberation. The formal language of this work is very distinctive, the color is simple, the picture composition is particularly empty, and the foggy space strengthens the intoxicating artistic conception. The stout old trees are reminiscent of the antiquity of national culture, and the end of the western bright moon is the moment when things arrive in time and space. The amorous feelings of the drunken girl who returned from the gathering have both the beauty of national folk customs and the simplicity of local culture. Poetic treatment is the remarkable feature of this work, as if all the scenes in the painting are drunk, people are drunk, the moon is drunk, the fog is drunk, the trees are drunk, and all the scenery is drunk. The combination of drunken women constitutes the image of painting and evokes the profound poetry of painting. This painting is realistic and full of romantic feelings. It is described in a realistic way, and it is "figurative" in narration, thus suggesting and symbolizing. This work, which was created in that era of lingering fear, got rid of the creative mode of weaving composition, plot and characters for political needs, and transformed the graphic interpretation of political concepts into a deep revelation of culture and life, thus opening up a new situation. From the perspective of creative aesthetics, it is undoubtedly a revolution in creative ideas. Many nuances of the picture reveal the natural characteristics of female artists' self-experience and female perspective, which provides a valuable example for the study of female painting aesthetics.

Zhu Licun has his own understanding of transfiguration. She believes that transfiguration can't distort life, let alone uglify it. Deformation should convey the unique aesthetic image, artistic meaning and formal charm obtained by the painter in his artistic experience. Deformation is also a "wonderful" treatment method, which is an intensified, rich, vivid and exaggerated method. Her Autumn Fruit uses the technique of deformation and follows the way of "vivid and freehand brushwork" and "wonderful". Her works, such as Fair and Harvest, all pursue and capture the "real feeling" and "aesthetic stimulation" of "electric shock" in life, and transform "feeling" into an art form. Some of Zhu Licun's works have quietly absorbed the nutrition of folk art modeling experience. The characteristics such as Pig Doll, Autumn Harvest and Rushing Day show that the nutrition of folk art has brought a simple and fresh cultural atmosphere to her art.

Artistic idea

Zhu Licun once explained the eternal theme of maternal love in a unique way. Her "Song of Life" sublimated from maternal love to fraternity, excavated human nature in social theme creation, and praised the glory of life in the spirit of fraternity. This painting is based on the touching story of a pregnant woman who was rescued and gave birth on a boat in the 1992 flood. There are many characters in the painting, including old people, children, women, and more soldiers who are exhausted after fighting floods. The center of the oval composition is the lying-in woman who fell asleep after labor pains. After experiencing the danger and pain of flood peak, she fell asleep peacefully and sweetly beside the baby crying loudly in the arms of the midwife under the comfort and protection of her strange relatives. Coloring is a warm and harmonious color surrounded by severe darkness, and the focus center is white. The central point of view is prominent and eye-catching, which puts the central event in a very special situational atmosphere. The characters present have different modal reflections. The young soldier turned his back to the center, the older soldier hung his head wearily, the children were in shock, and the old woman stretched out her hands with concern. The author fully mobilized the readers' association and contrast psychology, and showed the thrilling process of special events in a static moment. The sinister environment reflects the tranquility of the parturient, and the smile in sleep and the loud cry of new life symbolize the high spirit of fraternity. The author is meticulous in thinking and handling, and the choice of starting point creates a broad space for the plot to unfold.

Zhu Licun believes that people appreciate art first by appreciating the exuberance of a spirit and the beauty of an emotional realm. This is also what she constantly pursues in her creation. Including "Fair", "Home", "Mountain Girl" and other small paintings all reflect this creative thinking. In Catch-up Day, three rural women carry baskets on their backs and hurriedly carry their own pigs, cocks, eggs and peppers to the farmers' market. It can be seen that the women in these mountain villages are strong but short and have strong legs. They are beaming, chatting at home and walking on the road. Walking posture and solid steps reveal optimistic information of "looking forward" and "full of vitality", and even reveal their confidence in life. The significance of Zhu Licun's creation lies in that she reveals the historical information of rural reform, opening up and social transformation in China through her own artistic image-the simple and hopeful image of rural women in Sichuan village. The credible and true artistic power makes this work an image record of the historical process of rural reform.

Artistic practice

Zhu Licun believes that beauty comes from the harmony between man and nature. I think her two works, Gu Hemu, fully embody the idea of harmonious coexistence between man and nature. Both Gu and his pastoral poems emphasize the sense of space, deliberately keeping the horizon low, while letting others curl up freely in the vast sky. The Tibetan sisters and shepherdess in the painting are both daughters of nature. They are bathed in sunshine and breeze, live in harmony with nature, live together and prosper together.

Zhu Licun's works are all freehand brushwork in ink and wash. I think it may be because of age that the painter's interest has shifted. But in fact, Zhu Licun studied freehand brushwork in the Academy of Fine Arts, and a series of works she created after graduation, such as Four Don 'ts and Uncle Drinking Water, are all freehand brushwork. Uncle Drinking Water, which she created on 1973, not only participated in the national art exhibition at that time, but also was published in many newspapers and magazines, and the publishing house printed a large number of adult paintings. Later, in order to show her needs, she began to draw meticulous paintings.

Artistic pursuit

On the lonely road, she respectfully painted meticulous paintings for nearly 30 years (occasionally painting a little ink painting for entertainment). In order to pursue the artistic ideal, it is worthwhile to pay the due price, with no regrets. However, as I get older, my eyesight, physical strength and energy are declining. If I continue to concentrate on meticulous painting, I won't be able to draw 100 by the age of 100. What's more, this is undoubtedly a kind of destruction to the body. Why not put meticulous painting aside (only temporarily, the road of meticulous painting has not finished), relax, open your mind, pick up a wet brush, spread it horizontally and vertically on rice paper and enjoy the beauty of pen and ink! She has experienced a rich life and accumulated rich artistic experience.

In recent years, she has painted some small ink paintings. "Sketch" means that the content is relatively simple, the conception and composition are not difficult, and the framework is not too big. You can focus on the tempering of pen and ink language and the exploration of artistic forms, and draw fun and look interesting. Freehand brushwork seems simple, in a few words, highly summarized, it can make your dreams come true immediately, and it can also make your efforts go up in smoke and completely fail, which can be described as everyone's happiness! Sometimes, looking at the mountains of waste paintings in the studio, I am surprised that my "creation" in one week has exceeded the achievements of the previous year. No wonder the masters are also called "three thousand waste paintings". It seems that the pain of pen and ink is not so good. The feeling of freehand brushwork is that in the process of painting, she is more focused and active than any painting she has painted (such as Chinese painting, sketch, oil painting, printmaking, watercolor, etc.). ). Freehand brushwork can be scrutinized and carefully planned on the manuscript, and then made step by step, while oil painting can be repeated and modified blindly on the canvas, which is different from freehand brushwork. Freehand brushwork needs affirmation, accuracy, simplicity and neatness, and you can't hesitate or dawdle, nor can you describe and copy the real image literally, which will lose your vivid expression and the momentum of using a pen. What China painters need is "vivid modeling ability". They should thoroughly understand the image and memorize "giving up the shape to get the spirit", so that they can be vivid and have both form and spirit. There is not much room for modification in painting on the biological propaganda of dissolved ink water. But the pen and ink effect it presents can show rich inner feelings. When the pen is properly played with heart and interest, you can get unexpected wonderful pen and ink and surprise you. Sometimes there will be unexpected accidents, which will create a thrilling opportunity for you to make mistakes again and again and save the day. If the mistake is too big or there is no power to return to heaven, you must give up all your efforts. Freehand brushwork is dominated by ink, and the power of pen and ink has a natural beauty of life essence. The priority, dry and wet shade, light and heavy thickness of each stroke should take into account its modeling function, its echo relationship with the surroundings and its own formal beauty, and also conform to the overall truth and rhythm of the picture. The process of freehand brushwork requires constant judgment and improvisation according to the situation, so painting must be in good condition. Everything is achieved in silence, the spirit is focused and relaxed, too nervous, and the original spirituality cannot be released. "Doing nothing is everything" is the best, just like Zen: it is extremely moving in silence and extremely quiet in movement. In this respect, drawing freehand sketches is not only brain-strengthening, but also fitness. A simple small painting can show a painter's artistic accomplishment and ability, including talent, imagination, creativity, picture shaping and processing ability, brush and ink accomplishment and skills, aesthetic artistic style and artistic personality. Either of them will affect the effect. It is important to draw well, but improvisation is limited without the usual basic training and some necessary external work. Freehand brushwork emphasizes artistic sense and pen and ink ability, which are all related to internal cultivation. This is the difficulty of freehand brushwork and its charm.

"I am infatuated with China's cultural spirit, earnestly study the profound cultural traditions, and like to express ordinary and warm modern life when painting and express my love for ordinary people and things. The universe is great and exquisite, and the light of truth is everywhere. The success of a work lies in beauty, and beauty lies in the order of art and the laws of nature, which is in line with the pulse of life in the universe. For me, the feeling of enjoying this natural harmony greatly exceeds the painting itself. "

Hometown complex

Yixing is a petite water town in the south of the Yangtze River.

"I always like to indicate on my resume that my ancestral home is Yixing, Jiangsu. At first, I told myself not to forget my roots, but after a long time, I found it was something to be proud of. Many new friends will give a thumbs-up when they learn that I am from Yixing, saying that it is a good place with outstanding people, profound cultural heritage and beautiful scenery. " Yesterday, when interviewed by this reporter, Ms. Zhu Licun, director of China Artists Association, expressed her strong hometown plot with simple words. Zhu Licun's father is from Yixing. After returning from studying in Japan, he practiced medicine in Nanjing. Father's description of Yixing is: Yixing is small, but very warm. Zhu Licun said that his father often mentioned that Yixing is a very small city, and it takes less than an hour to run around the city. Most people who live in cities know that there are constant greetings during morning exercises. Zhu Licun's nanny is also from Yixing. She used to be a fisherman. I often talk to her about Taihu Lake and things in my hometown. Although her words are simple, they make her dream and yearn.

It's a pity to miss the teacher's teaching.

Yixing has produced many famous painters and calligraphers, among which Xu Beihong is the most admired by Zhu Licun. Zhu Licun studied in the middle school attached to the Central Academy of Fine Arts on 1955, and was in the Academy of Fine Arts at that time, but teacher Beihong died on 1954, so she failed to get personal guidance from the master. She said that according to her brothers, Mr. Beihong has always been concerned about the growth of students in the middle school attached to the Academy of Fine Arts and often gives personal guidance. Xu Beihong devoted himself to the study of Chinese and western painting traditions, critically absorbed the essence of Chinese and western painting traditions, and integrated them to form his own unique style. Xu Beihong also hopes that students can make bold innovations on the basis of inheriting the tradition, make due contributions to the fine arts cause in China, and form a prosperous scene with a hundred flowers blooming. Zhu Licun said that the Academy of Fine Arts and its affiliated middle schools have always adhered to Xu Beihong's philosophy in art education.

Hometown sentiment

She said; Looking down at this strange and familiar city through the glass window in the morning. She thinks Yixing is really beautiful, modern and has a strong waterscape. In particular, the long history of pottery culture and the beautiful bamboo sea aroused her strong interest. In the future, she is willing to put more artistic brushstrokes on the description of her hometown Yixing.
