In 2003, Deng Lin served as assistant to the mayor of Xinxiang Municipal People's Government;

Since March 2005, he has served as the vice chairman of Xinxiang CPPCC and concurrently as the director of Xinxiang Development and Reform Commission.

From June 5438 to February 2008, the Standing Committee of Xinxiang Municipal People's Congress removed Deng Lin from the post of director of Xinxiang Municipal Development and Reform Commission.
