Chen, also known as Chen, is from Putian, Fujian. His father, Chen Shiying, was admitted to the Ming Dynasty, became a magistrate of Chaoyang County, and later settled in Chaoyang. In the Southern Song Dynasty, in the year of Kai Qing Yuan (1259), he was promoted to a scholar, awarded the master book of Shishou, and later transferred to Yangzhou to preside over justice. At that time, Kublai Khan was preparing to send troops to invade the Song Dynasty. Chen Menglong put forward several suggestions of "recruiting talents", which were not adopted by the court. In the sixth year of Xianchun (1270), he abandoned his official position and returned to his hometown. In November of the first year of Jingyan (1276), the Nanjian mansion was reduced to Yuan, and the monarch and his subjects of Song Duanzong boarded a ship and fled to the south. They scattered their wealth and started to work hard, and the court rewarded Zhaohui for recruiting and making generals all the way. In the first year of Xiangxing (1278), he assisted Wen Tianxiang in attacking Chen Yi in Chaoyang. Later, he learned that his brother Jiangxi Zhaofu had trapped Chen Enzhen on an isolated island, so he sent troops to help. I was stopped by Yuan Bing on the way. When he arrived, the city was broken and Chen Enzhen died. Chen Menglong hated each other and vowed to kill the enemy and save the country. The team quickly increased from more than 3,000 to more than 20,000. After fighting the Yuan Army in Jiangxi and Fujian for several months, it finally failed because of the disparity in numbers. At the beginning of the second year, 900 people returned to the old camp in Nanshan, Chaoyang, and reported that Wen Tianxiang had been arrested in Wupoling and had been transferred to Haikou (now Haimen Town). He led the troops to save Wen Tianxiang and died in a fierce battle with Yuan soldiers in Gucheng Township, Haikou. Out of a sense of loyalty, scholars built a tomb and monument for him in Shuangxi Yandi (belonging to Leiling Town).
There is an ancient Tiantai Temple in Tian Xin Town, Chaonan, which is dedicated to the statues of Emperor Song, Wen Tianxiang, Lu Xiufu and others. As soon as Tian Xin people see this Tiantai Temple, they will think of the story of Chen Menglong, the hero of the Song Dynasty, calling on the people to oppose the Yuan Dynasty.
