The reporter interviewed Master Huipu exclusively. His screen name is Shaman Huipu.

1. Q: I heard that Master Huipu was a soldier before he became a monk. When did the host abandon the uniform and put on the robe?

Master Huipu: By chance, I met my tutor and got in touch with Buddhist music, and I liked it at that time. It can also be said that I became a monk partly because of Buddhist music. Master told me that my voice is very good, and I can use my voice to promote Buddhism after becoming a monk.

2. Q: In 2008, Master Huipu recorded the first Buddhist music album "Empty Valley Zen Rhyme". When did the master really come into contact with Buddhist music? Does this album have any special significance for Master Whip?

Master Huipu: I first came into contact with Buddhist music in 2003, but I didn't really start singing Buddhist music until 2005. The album Empty Valley Zen Rhyme was recorded in 2007 and released in 2008. I hope to make friends with more people, especially the younger generation, through simple and convenient singing, so the album is recorded in a more popular way. I don't want Buddha soul music to be too rigid, so it should be accepted by more people. And most of the songs on my album are hymns, or a true portrayal of Zen.

3. Q: Is Buddhist music also called soul song? What is Master Huipu's understanding of Lingle? Is it the same as traditional Buddhist music?

I think there are many kinds of Buddhist music. Most of the people who read Buddha in the temple are Brahma, but what we sing now are mostly popular spiritual songs. Personally, I think the mainstream of Buddhist thought is fresh, natural and harmonious, which is based on enlightening people's wisdom, persuading people to be good and liberating themselves from becoming Buddhas. So I think Buddhist music, like Zen, pays attention to freedom, freedom and softness. In other words, a passage may not be easy to understand or accept, but a good piece of music is easy for many people to accept. In addition, music is also a good carrier, and Buddhism can use this carrier to spread our teachings.

4. Q: Master Huipu is known as the chief monk of Chinese Buddhist music art. What does the master think of this title? Does Master Huipu think the positioning of artistic monks is accurate? What's the difference with the traditional monks?

A: Don't say that. I don't like such a name. I don't consider myself an artistic monk, just a simple monk. Maybe this is my strength, I just foster strengths and avoid weaknesses.

5. Q: Does Master Huipu know Master Daoxin Shi, who is called "Little Nicholas Tse of Buddhism"? What do you think of Master Daoxin Shi's claim that he will become the first artistic monk to enter the entertainment circle in China? Do you also have the will to step into the entertainment circle?

A: Well, I don't comment. I think there is a difference between him and me. I think I should be a good monk first. Make music again. In the case of being a good monk, do something to promote Buddhism and benefit students. We are monks, so we should smoke in the temple. We can't be divorced from this group and can't be persistent.

6. Q: What is Master Huipu's definition of a good monk? As we all know, Buddhism has always been a place of pure practice, and monks are indifferent and far away from the world. However, Master Whip is more high-profile. Apart from recording albums, sending photos and writing blogs online, does it violate the Buddhist spirit or even the precepts?

A: A good monk should abide by the law, not only in the temple, but also the constitution and laws of the country, and always have good thoughts to correct his bad habits. Hehe, I seldom surf the Internet, and I don't like surfing the Internet. I also surf the Internet mainly to do some Buddhism teaching. I didn't break the rules, and I didn't do anything bad. I just hope that more friends can contact and listen to Buddhism.

7. Q: It is said that a company wants to sign a contract with Master Huipu to jointly develop Buddhist spiritual music. Is this statement true?

(Master Whip) A: Hehe, I don't know. However, I have cooperated with Sambo Culture and am currently preparing my second album. The first record is not ideal, I hope the second one can be improved.

8. Q: Master Huipu has performed brilliantly in many activities before. Is there anything particularly attractive to Master Huipu in this Wenshang Prince's Soul Cultural Festival?

(Master Huipu) A: I have always felt that Shandong is a place with outstanding people. I really want to come to such a place. Therefore, I came earlier this time. Yesterday I went to Mount Tai, and today I am in Qufu. I came to visit the holy land. However, what attracts me most is the culture of chasing Buddha by the prince spirit in Wenshang. I haven't been to Shandong, but I have seen the introduction of the prince's soul culture on the Internet. This time, I am invited by Golden Eagle Media to participate in this activity. In Buddhism, it is a very rare opportunity because of karma.

9. Q: What programs did Master Huipu prepare for the Prince's Soul Festival? Is there any breakthrough in this performance compared with the past?

A: I think the difference between this performance and my previous performance is that I used to be the lead singer, and this time I may be a solo singer, singing the song from my album, the Buddhist classic: Prajna Paramita Heart Sutra. I hope you will like it.
