Shaoyaoshan Township is rich in walnuts, persimmons and peppers, and it is the production township of yellow smoke and honeysuckle. Shaoyaoshan Township is rich in limestone resources, which have been preliminarily developed. Tianjingwang area's Tianjing stone is famous all over the country, and it is a treasure among craft stones, which has extremely high ornamental value and collection value. Southwest Valley is one of the only two producing areas of Shangshuishi in Feixian County.
The animal husbandry in Shaoyaoshan Township is developed, mainly raising sheep and rabbits. The annual output of slaughtered sheep and rabbit hair ranks first in the county.
Crops mainly include sweet potatoes, wheat, corn, peanuts and millet. It is the largest sweet potato seedling supply base in the county. In 2000, the per capita net income of farmers was 2030 yuan.
