In Hejia's long-standing blood, there is a deep affection that is difficult to resolve. Therefore, if you talk by candlelight at night, you must trace back to the source; Fragments of memory should be picked up from Panyu, a land that has nurtured He Houhua's ancestors.
Panyu has been a famous metropolis since Qin and Han Dynasties. In the eyes of Cantonese, it is a bright pearl spit out by the Pearl River Dragon. For more than a century, the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom Movement, the Opium War, the Revolution of 1911, War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the War of Liberation have all given Panyu people all kinds of trials and tests. How many romantic figures have been nurtured in Panyu, which is rich in products and fertile in soil and water? All celebrities are honored as "Mr. Xiang" by Panyu people.
Yushan, my hometown, has nurtured generations of talented "villagers" and nourished the family's affection. 1993, He Houhua, who was only 38 years old, together with his mother Chen Qiong, his uncle He Tian and his late father He Xian, was included in the glorious book of "Honorary Citizen of Panyu City"-only from this point can it be proved that He Houhua, who grew up overseas, did inherit the local complex of his patriotic late father. Therefore, it is not difficult to understand why He Houhua, the son of Macao, is no stranger among all the villagers in Panyu. His elders call him Huazi and his colleagues call him Gehua.
He Houhua's biological father He Xian's hometown is Tang Ying Village, Yuexi Township, Shilou Town, Panyu City. Tang Ying Village is 0/7km away from stonebridge 1500 years ago.
Before He Xian was born, his grandfather had gone out to do business. In He Xian's father, He Chengxi, he is not a wealthy businessman, but a well-off family in the underdeveloped rural areas of old China.
When He Chengxi was young and strong, he started a small business in Panyu and other places in Shunde, such as silk, seafood, matches, grain and oil, straw hats and so on. In Tang Ying, he has 70-80 mu of fields and two orchards, and also bought several properties in Guangzhou. Later, it also started shipping, with several Warwick ferries such as Hongyun and He Yi, and opened passenger and cargo services between Macau, Zhanjiang and Jiangmen.
He Chengxi has always been amiable, enthusiastic about social welfare and concerned about the villagers. He died in Macau on June 1954 10/4. Before he died, he made a will and took care of his poor relatives with two-thirds of his property. What he said and did all his life had a great influence on He Xian.
He Chengxi's former residence, located at the foot of Yuelu Mountain, beside the Yuetan River and in Tang Zhongying Village of Yuexi Township, is quite interesting. First of all, there is a very urbanized house number nailed to the door of a narrow alley, called "Tang Ying Street", which is a completely modern market gate with white handwriting on a dark blue background. To say that this ancestral home should be desolate and cold for half a century. In his early years, He Chengxi often traveled abroad and lived in Changxing Lane, Guangzhou for a long time. 1938 In the autumn and winter, under the frequent bombing of Japanese imperialist planes, Mr. Chengxi returned to his ancestral home in the countryside to escape the chaos. In the end, his life footprint drifted to Macao Island and died in Macao. At present, this cold and humble old residence was redecorated by He villagers in the early 1985 according to the previous style. At that time, He Xian had passed away on 1983, so this move to rebuild the ancestral home more clearly expressed He's wish to miss two generations of sages. The furniture in the main hall is almost simple and full of nostalgia. Three black and white yellow old shadows hung side by side on the gray brick wall in the main hall: Duke He Chengxi and his two wives, Deng Shi and Liang Shi, all set off a trace of feelings of joining the WTO for the space of the ancestral home with quiet manners and kind eyes, thus adding to the mystery of the former residence and opening up the realistic distance with the surrounding villagers.
In the secluded courtyard of He Zuwu, there is an exquisite sculpture of "Tian" (God Brand) on the wall in the middle of the house, which reads the four characters "God bless the people". According to the village chief, this kind of "day" card is found in every household in the village, but the poor often stick it on the door panel or courtyard wall; Better yet, find a board and nail it. Goodbye. He Jia's "Japanese" brand carved from gray bricks is a rich family and well decorated. If you meet another rich family, will you create a gold and silver "day" card? It seems entirely possible.
In any case, people can see with their own eyes that the "Tianri" brand embedded in the wall of Hejia ancestral home is really durable. No matter how far the Ho family has gone, no matter how promising and successful their descendants are, I'm afraid they will still be attached to the blessed land where their ancestors originated, just like the villagers born in Yushan.
