Yaozhou District, belonging to Tongchuan City, Shaanxi Province, is located in the south edge of Weibei Plateau in central Shaanxi, southwest of Tongchuan City, north of Xunyi County, south of Sanyuan County, northeast of Tongchuan City, Wangyi District, northeast of yintai district, southeast of Fuping County and southwest of Chunhua County.
Yaozhou District, known as Yaoxian in ancient times, is the natural gateway from Guanzhong to northern Shaanxi, and is known as the "key to the north mountain" and "throat gate". Yaozhou has a long history and profound cultural heritage. It was once the ruling place of ancient Kang Yin, and the history of establishing the county was more than 2 160 years.
Evolution of organizational system in Yaozhou district;
1950 and 1953 were successively changed to Xianyang and Weinan administrative offices. 1956 is a county directly administered by the province. 1At the end of 958, the county was withdrawn and merged into Tongchuan City. 196 1 county system was restored in August, belonging to Weinan Commissioner's Office.
1980 1 month, changed to Tongchuan county. On June 18, 2002, the State Council approved (Guo Han [2002] No.54): Yaoxian County was abolished and Yaozhou District of Tongchuan City was established. The administrative area of Yaoxian County is Yaozhou District, and the District People's Government is located in Chengguan Town.
