Second, connect the power cord and plug the serial hard disk cable into any free SATA interface on the motherboard.

Third, enter the BIOS to check whether the first boot sequence is still your original hard disk. If the system can start normally, you can skip this step.

4. After the system starts, initialize a new hard disk in Windows Disk Management (select MBR format), and then create partitions, assign drive letters and format (select NTFS) according to the required size (you can choose quick format). It can be used in the resource manager.

Note: If you are XP and the hard disk is WD 10EARS, you must run the "4K Sector Alignment Program for Western Digital Advanced Format Hard Disk" immediately after all formatting is completed, otherwise the performance of the hard disk will be greatly reduced and it will be prone to errors. In order to avoid this trouble, I suggest you hook it up on the machine of Win7 for partition formatting, which can be used normally under XP, but you can't use XP for partition formatting in the future.
