Editor's recommendation

The Seventh Day won the Chinese Literature and Media Award as the Outstanding Writer of the Year. Warmth and indifference, kindness and evil, truth and absurdity, reality and nothingness interweave into an allegory of the times. Yu Hua wrote all the kindness and sadness of China people. Yu Hua's writing is brave but not intolerant, humorous and solemn. His novels not only reveal the reality, but also create a kind of reality. By constantly reinterpreting the complex relationship between novels and reality, he continues to write today's literary China. -Speech at the China Literature and Media Awards Ceremony

Won the Chinese Literature and Media Award and Outstanding Writer of the Year.

Celebrity recommendation

The seventh day, in a sense, opened the way to divinity. If it is a song, it must be a sad song. If it is a book, it is a dead book of the times. Mr. Yu Hua has always insisted on writing for small people. For the sake of most silent writing, I appreciate and respect his writing attitude very much. Zhang Qinghua

This novel is written in the language of poetry, which is the result of Yu Hua's continuous exploration of the complex relationship between literature, literary tradition, literature and art, reality and individuals. Personally, I think this exploration is a success. Zhang Xinying
