Since August 2005, Professor Li Mingzhe, Vice Chairman of Plastic Engineering Society of China Mechanical Engineering Society, has been mainly engaged in scientific research and postgraduate teaching in the field of material processing engineering such as sheet metal dieless forming, die CAD/CAM, numerical simulation of plastic processing process;

The main research contents include

① Research and development of basic theories and key technologies of multi-point forming, single-point forming and digital manufacturing of flexible coil;

(2) Numerical simulation of plastic working process and analysis of forming law;

③ Research and development of plastic forming technology and equipment.

④ Research on digital and intelligent processing methods of materials;

⑤ Numerical simulation and analysis of plastic forming process;

⑥ Research and development of special plastic forming technology and equipment.

He presided over nearly 20 national, provincial and ministerial scientific research projects, such as the National 863 High-tech Plan, the National Key Scientific and Technological Research Plan (II), the National Natural Science Foundation, the Technical Innovation Fund for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Torch Plan and the National Key Promotion Plan for Scientific and Technological Achievements. In the field of multi-point forming, a new theory of sheet metal multi-point forming is established, which solves a series of key technologies in practical technology and equipment and realizes the practical application of multi-point forming technology. These breakthroughs and progress have made China at the forefront of similar research work in the world.

The research achievement "integrated system and forming technology of flexible forming of metal three-dimensional curved parts" won the first prize of China Machinery Industry Science and Technology Award in 2005; "Research and application of multi-point dieless forming technology for sheet metal" won the first prize of Jilin Province's scientific and technological progress in 2003, and "dieless multi-point forming press for sheet metal" won the innovation award of Shanghai International Industry Expo. In the research of multi-point forming technology, two invention patents (authorized) and three utility model patents were obtained, and the related patents won the gold medal in China International Invention Exhibition; Published more than 40 academic papers related to multi-point forming technology 140, of which more than 20 papers were included by SCI, EI or ISTP, and the number of published papers exceeded two-thirds of the total number of related papers at home and abroad. In 2009, he won the second prize of national scientific and technological progress for "key technology and equipment for multi-point forming of large irregular space curved parts and their application".

In 20 10, at the 12 China Patent Awards Conference, Li Mingzhe, a professor and doctoral supervisor of Jilin University and director of the roll forging technology research institute, was responsible for developing the "dieless multi-point forming device for sheet metal" and won the highest prize awarded by the government-China Patent Gold Award.
