Jiaozuo has a superior location advantage. It is located at the intersection of China's north and south, east and west, and the center of China's New Eurasian Continental Bridge, with a pivotal position of connecting the east with the west and connecting the south with the north.
Jiaozuo has convenient transportation advantages. Located in the north-south passage of the Yellow River and the intersection of Shanxi and Henan provinces, it has been an important material distribution center in northwest Henan since ancient times. There are four railway lines in Jiaozhi (Jiaozuo-Zhicheng), Jiaotai (Jiaozuo-Taiyuan), Jiaoxin (Jiaozuo-Xinxiang) and Yuehou (Yueshan-Houma), and there are two large freight marshalling stations, Yueshan and Daiwang, which are convenient for railway transportation. The city's total highway mileage is 4,953 kilometers, and the highway density is 1, 2 1.6 kilometers/100 square kilometers, which is much higher than the provincial and national average. Two expressways have been built in Jiaozheng and Jiaojin, with a mileage of 72.8 kilometers. Three expressways, namely Jiaowen, Xinjiaoji and Luo Ji, are under construction. By the end of the Tenth Five-Year Plan, Jiaozuo will achieve the goal of "connecting counties with high speed", and all counties and cities will be able to connect with high speed. Jiaozuo has unique natural resources. First, the mineral resources are very rich. There are more than 40 kinds of mineral resources, and more than 20 kinds of proven reserves, such as coal, limestone, bauxite, refractory clay, pyrite and so on. Among them, the recoverable reserves of coal field are 600 million tons, which is a single high-quality anthracite and an ideal raw material for chemical industry and steel industry. Refractory clay is shallow buried and easy to mine. It is a high-quality raw material for producing ceramics and refractories, with proven reserves of 50.49 million tons. The iron ore reserves are 27.26 million tons, and industrial reserve 7.406 million tons, mainly magnetite, with an iron content of 32%. The predicted reserve of limestone is 1000 billion tons, which is a high-quality raw material for producing soda ash, acetylene, cement and other products. The pyrite reserves are 34.755 million tons, accounting for 465.438+0% of the total reserves in the province. Second, water resources are abundant. Jiaozuo is a rare water-rich area in North China. There are many rivers in China, including 23 rivers, with a drainage area of more than 65,438+000 square kilometers. There are two artificial canals, Yin Qin Canal and Guangli Canal, as well as large reservoirs such as Qunying, Qingtianhe, Baiqiang and Shunjian. The upcoming South-to-North Water Diversion Project will also obliquely run through the central city, bringing abundant surface water resources to Jiaozuo. More importantly, Jiaozuo is a natural groundwater collection basin. The vast area of about 1.400 square kilometers in the northern and southeastern mountainous areas of Shanxi Province is the recharge area of groundwater in Jiaozuo. Under the control of complex geological structure, shallow groundwater and part of precipitation in these areas are gathered in our city, forming relatively rich karst water resources, and the proven groundwater reserves are 3.54 billion cubic meters at present. In addition, there are about 500 square kilometers of foothills and gravel slopes in the southern foot of Taihang Mountain in the north of Jiaozuo. The geology is hard and stable, and the stratum has great bearing capacity. It is an ideal industrial land and is also very suitable for building high-rise buildings.
Jiaozuo can fully guarantee the energy supply. Southeast Shanxi is rich in coal reserves, adjacent to the coal sea and abundant in surface water resources, which provides convenient conditions for the development of large thermal power plants. There are Jiaozuo Power Plant, Danhe Power Plant, Ayers Power Plant, Jinguan Energy and other large power plants in China, with a total installed capacity of 2.6 million kilowatts. The installed capacity of Zi Ling, Jiulishan and Danhe power plants under construction exceeds100000 kilowatts. Upon completion, Jiaozuo will become one of the most important energy bases in China.
Jiaozuo is rich in tourism resources. Superior geographical location and thousands of years of historical and cultural accumulation have created a rich and unique natural and cultural landscape here. Yuntai Mountain National Scenic Area, Qingtian River, Shennong Mountain, Qinglong Gorge Provincial Scenic Area, Fenglinxia, Qinglong Gorge and Yueshan Temple Municipal Scenic Area, as well as CCTV Jiaozuo Film and Television City, Longyuan Lake Paradise and other modern leisure and entertainment places have been developed and constructed one after another. Yuntaishan World Geopark consists of five parks, namely Yuntaishan, Qinglong Gorge, Fenglinxia, Shennongshan and Qingtianhe. It is one of the first 28 world geoparks recognized by UNESCO. It has a long history and has six national key cultural relics protection units, including Fucheng Site and Jiayingguan. In 2003, Jiaozuo entered the ranks of excellent tourist cities in China, and its landscape brand was famous all over the country. At present, it has become a new tourist hotspot city in China. Yuntai Mountain Scenic Area has occupied a leading position in the province in terms of the number of tourists and ticket revenue for six consecutive golden weeks. During the Golden Week of May 1, 2004, Yuntai Mountain Scenic Area achieved the eighth place in the number of tourists and the fifth place in the ticket revenue among the 99 key scenic spots monitored by the state.
Jiaozuo's urban infrastructure is relatively perfect. In recent years, according to the idea of "relying on the old city, developing the new district, expanding circularly and developing in a rolling way", Jiaozuo insists on paying equal attention to the development of the new district and the transformation of the old city, and has transformed and broadened the urban traffic arteries such as the East Ring Road, the West Ring Road and Tanan Road, and comprehensively strengthened the infrastructure construction of Jiaonan Group and High-tech Zone. The main road in the new area has been completed, the party and government organs, the central bus station and Henan Polytechnic University have moved south, and the urban development space has been obviously opened. The West-East Gas Transmission Project, a major national project, runs through the whole territory.
