At that time, there were no more than three people worthy of the title of "economic experts within the Party": Sun, Xue Muqiao and Ma Hong. All three have worked in major economic management departments and served as "directors of economic research institutes" at different times.

In the process of reform and opening-up, Xue Muqiao and Mahone both led think tanks in the State Council, which may correspond to Xia Mo's later role in TV series.

Judging from the drama series, there may be a plot of Deng Xiaoping inspecting Baosteel behind the TV series, and Ma Hong participated in the demonstration of Baosteel's construction.

In addition, Deng Xiaoping also talked with Xia Mo about the development of Sino-foreign joint venture economy. Historically, Ma Hong was also a high-level think tank who led a delegation to visit overseas earlier, systematically introduced foreign enterprise management theories and methods, and promoted Sino-foreign economic and trade cooperation.

Of course, judging from their age and place of origin, the above characters can't completely correspond to Xia Mo in the play. Summer in TV series can be said to represent a group of high-level think tanks at that time.

Creative background:

In 2009, the 60th anniversary of the founding of New China, the Central Literature Research Office was appointed to take the lead in organizing and creating this TV series with the theme of Deng Xiaoping.

In February 2009, I gave three guiding opinions: First, I hope that the time period of the play will be between1the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee in 978 and1the Third Plenary Session of the Twelfth Central Committee in 984;

Second, the core of this drama should reflect the image of Deng Xiaoping, the chief architect of reform and opening up; Third, in addition to reflecting Deng Xiaoping's personal contribution, it should also reflect the historical process of the country's overall reform and opening up.

At the beginning of filming, the drama Deng Xiaoping at the turning point in history made more than a dozen detailed diversity outlines, and after passing the examination, it entered the next stage: selecting some chapters for trial writing.

At this stage, they went through five rounds of "overthrowing and rewriting" and then entered the first draft stage of the script. The creation of the first draft has also gone through the process of "substantially modifying the final draft" three times. After argumentation and examination, we began to enter the formal script creation.

Deng Xiaoping's creation at the turning point in history lasted for four years. The first draft of the official script was completed in August 20 12, the second draft was completed in September 20 13, and the third draft was the final draft.
