Introduction to Xie
Xie was a Taoist in Sui and Tang Dynasties and a Taoist mythological figure Xie Xianzu. The famous branch, the word Deng Ying, is one of the five generals of Wagang. He is a descendant of Xie An, Xie Xuan and Xie Shi in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, and his ancestral home is Yang Xia in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (now Taikang County, Henan Province). His great grandfather's name is Xie Zhe and his grandfather's name is Xie Bing. Xie Hui, his father, has always been charitable, but he is forty years old and has no children, so he prayed to the gods. One day, I got the advice of a Taoist priest and even took my wife to Huashan for sacrifice. On the way, I stayed in a thatched cottage for one night. I dreamed that a god looked like Zhou Cang, so I broke into the house and asked them to worship. I didn't see him when I woke up, but I saw a red light outside the window. The couple were seriously ill, so Xie Hui gave up her trip to Huashan and went to Lintong's home to rest. Three months later, one morning, Mrs. Xie told Xie Hui that she had a dream last night that the man of God came to stay, and now she was pregnant. Xie Hui was overjoyed, and built the thatched cottage where she spent the night with her wife into a Taoist temple, offering worship to Guan Jun and enriching her virtue. In the fifteenth year of Emperor Wendi (58 1-60 1) (595), Xie Hui's residence was shrouded in red clouds, with a strange fragrance floating. A child jumped in the clouds like a faint shadow, so Xie Ying set foot on the battlefield at the right time.

Xie was smart and studious since he was a child, and he never forgot the classics. He was a scholar at the age of fourteen, and later learned martial arts. He was good at archery and familiar with the art of war. Eighteen years old, both civil and military, known far and near. He is called "Sai Xinling". Emperor Yang Di was bohemian and heroic. At that time, his uncle, who served in North Korea, resigned and became a monk, which had a great influence on Xie. In order to protect the safety of one party, Xie Wei organized villagers to resist the intrusion of officers and soldiers in Xiejiazhuang, thus angering the court and being besieged. Xie organized villagers to repel the siege of officers and men many times and moved to the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia border region, which soon had a great influence in this area and the team continued to expand. Later, he led his people to join the Wagang army and was named "the general of the Devil's Country Town Pavilion", when he was only in his twenties. After Li Yuan and his son established the Tang Dynasty, he resolutely refused to accept the reward. He saw through the splendor, joys and sorrows of the world and bravely retired. He followed his uncle Xie Hong to Sanqing Temple in Zhong Nanshan and became a monk. Under the guidance of his uncle, Xie devoted himself to studying the classics of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism, striving for monasticism and living in seclusion. Later, he traveled to famous mountains and rivers in the northwest, visited Taoism and made extensive friends with ethnic minorities. Learn from Wang Zhenren and master medical skills. He can treat terminally ill patients and bring them back to life, so he is widely used to save lives and win the love of the people. In 676 AD, in the first year of Yifeng (676-679), Xie Zai (also known as Yanbei, Shaanxi Province) became an immortal, and later generations respected him as a Taoist ancestor.

Today, there are immortal traces of Xie's walking in Shaanxi and other places in Henan Province, such as Xie's temples in Tanghe, Xinyang and Nanyang in Henan Province and Xie's village in Zhengzhou, Henan Province. At present, there are still two portraits of Xie in China. One is a portrait of Xie Zhongnian when he joined the army, holding a horse as silver as snow in his left hand, holding a silver gun in his right hand and carving a bow with an arrow on his waist. His cheeks are thin, his eyes are bright and dignified. The portrait of Xie, who is in his seventies, is eight feet tall, wearing a Taoist crown, a baguette robe, a full moon on his shoulders, a picture of Yin and Yang before and after his heart, a white cloth beard around his waist, a rosy face, a happy birthday girl and a kind eye. Sharp eyes, aim straight. Square mouth, double earlobe wheel, three strands of beautiful beard under the cheek, and a red mole on the left beard. In addition, in Lintong, Shaanxi Province, Xie's street monument was also found. The words on the monument were not clear, but the statue of Xie on the monument was clearly analyzed. Wearing a Taoist crown, an oblique sword and a Taoist robe. Two ribbons fluttered on the chest, and wide sleeves were wrapped around the straight body. The lower body is wearing plain cloud shoes, and there are three beards floating under the cheeks, which are almost exactly the same as in the painting.
