Ouyang Youquan, a native of Zhuxi, Hubei Province, worked as an educated youth in the countryside for five years after graduating from high school and worked as a private teacher. 1977 was admitted to the university for the first time after resuming the college entrance examination. 1982 began to teach in colleges and universities after graduation. Wuhan University received a master's degree in literature, and Sichuan University received a doctorate in literature. 1993 was awarded the title of "Young and middle-aged expert with outstanding contributions". 1996 was promoted to professor and was recognized as a cross-century academic leader. 1998 won the national Baosteel Excellent Teacher Award, and in 2000 was awarded as an expert enjoying special allowance from the State Council. In the same year, he was selected as a doctoral supervisor, recruiting doctoral students in the direction of "cultural industry management" and becoming the first doctoral supervisor in China to recruit doctoral students in the direction of cultural industry. In 2003, he was named the first top ten teaching teachers of Central South University.
