Wang Zhonglin, 196 1, a native of pucheng county, Shaanxi Province, is a top international nanotechnology scientist, physicist, material scientist and energy technology expert.

1978 Wang Zhonglin was admitted by Northwest Institute of Telecommunications Engineering; 1982 went to Arizona state university in the United States through the Sino-US joint training of physics graduate students. 1July, 1987, received a doctorate in physics; 1995 was employed by Georgia Institute of Technology as an associate professor and director of the electron microscope laboratory.

In September, 2000, he founded the Center for Nanotechnology of Georgia Institute of Technology and served as its director. In 2004, he served as the first overseas director of the National Nanoscience Center; In 2004, he was promoted to tenured professor of Georgia Institute of Technology; In February 2005, he promoted the establishment of the Department of Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology of Peking University Institute of Technology and served as the first president.
