Wu Jianmin (1March 30, 939—2065438+June 2006 18), male, Han nationality, was born in Nanjing, Jiangsu. He used to be a spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, an ambassador abroad, deputy director of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and dean of the Foreign Affairs College.
1959 graduated from the French Department of Beijing Foreign Studies University and entered the diplomatic community after graduation. Worked as an interpreter for Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, Chen Yi and other countries. People's Republic of China (PRC) became the first batch of permanent staff in the United Nations after resuming its legal seat in the United Nations. On June 8th, 20 16, Wu Jianmin died in a car accident in Wuhan.

From 1965 to 197 1, Wu Jianmin translated for Chairman Mao, Premier Zhou, Chen Yi and other older generations many times during his work in the translation room of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
197 1 to 1977, Wu Jianmin served as the third secretary and second secretary of the Permanent Mission of China to the United Nations;
On June 27, 2003, President Chirac awarded the General the Medal of Honor;
From July 2003 to April 2008, he served as Dean of Foreign Affairs College and Deputy Director of Foreign Affairs Committee of China People's Political Consultative Conference;
In February 2003, he became the president of the Bureau of International Expositions, which was the first China, the first Asian and the first person from a developing country to hold this important position.
In March 2005, he served as Deputy Secretary-General and Spokesman of China People's Political Consultative Conference.
