The history of siwangting
In February of the third year of Xianfeng in Qing Dynasty (1853), the Taiping Army captured Yangzhou, and General and Li led the army to the northern expedition. He once stayed in Yangzhou and "set up four pavilions and waited outside the city", so he was called four pavilions. The so-called "scaffolding" is to set up a scaffolding on the top floor of the pavilion to make a lookout and observe the movement of the Qing army. In case of enemy situation, blow the horn on the pavilion, fight with the enemy, and drum and cheer on the pavilion. There is a folk song: "Four Watches Pavilion, three-story pavilion, let clues come from the pavilion, blow the horn and beat back the Qing army." There is a red-headed army in Yangzhou city, and the Qing soldiers are too scared to come. "Siwangting is one of the revolutionary cultural relics in the modern history of China. 1962 was designated as a municipal cultural relics protection unit.
