1982 graduated from biology department of Huazhong normal university with a bachelor's degree; 1985 graduated from Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences with a master's degree; 1994 obtained the doctor of science degree. 1994- 1996, visiting scholar at the School of Life Sciences, University of Hull, UK, 1996 was awarded as a distinguished researcher by China Academy of Sciences in June. Since February 2000, he has been the director of environmental biology research office, and since June 5438+ 10, he has been the director of water environmental engineering research center.

He has presided over more than 20 scientific research projects, such as the National Eighth Five-Year Plan, the National Outstanding Youth Fund project "Study on Biotechnology Countermeasures of Aquatic Plant Purification Biology and Water Ecosystem Reconstruction", the major international scientific and technological cooperation project of the European Union "Study on Biotechnology Countermeasures of Water Quality Improvement, Reuse and Water Ecosystem Reconstruction in Tropical and Subtropical Areas" and the major national scientific and technological project "Remediation Technology and Demonstration Project of Polluted Urban Water". Long-term commitment to environmental biology, water pollution ecology, plant ecology and ecological engineering has achieved outstanding results.
