What is Li Shizhen's biography?
Li Shizhen (15 18-1593) is a native of qizhou, Hubei province. His grandfather and father are both doctors. Influenced by medical knowledge since childhood, he loved studying medicine and made a wish to save lives. Li Shizhen was a scholar at the age of 65,438+04, but there were no candidates in the provincial examinations at the age of 65,438+07, 20 and 23, so he decided to give up the imperial examination and concentrate on studying medicine. He studied hard for 10 years, and then began to treat people. At the age of 34, he was hired as a shrine by the king of Chu, who was in charge of the doctor's office and enjoyed the collection of books. Later, he was recommended to work in Beijing Royal Hospital. Less than _ years later, he resigned and returned to his hometown. While practicing medicine, he began to write Compendium of Materia Medica (1552). Li Shizhen "gathered 100 people and visited all over the world", while "fishing and hunting books" and making field trips.

"It's already 30 feet, and more than 800 books have been tested. The manuscripts are all three changes." It can be seen how much effort has been paid. 1578, when Li Shizhen was 6 1 year old, the manuscript was completed, with a total of 52 volumes, but it was not until 1590 that the Nanjing calligrapher Hu Chenglong paid for the engraving that it was first published in 1596. And Li Shizhen died three years ago, and he couldn't see it with his own eyes. In addition to medicine, Li Shizhen also studies biology, minerals, chemistry, geosciences and astronomy. Other works handed down from ancient times include Study of Dolphins on the Lake and Eight Veins of Strange Classics. After several scientific research failures, Li Shizhen also gradually grew up. He is determined to give up the imperial examination completely, but to pick up his childhood dream and become a doctor. Li Shizhen chose a road that was not praised at that time, deviated from the so-called "smooth road" that most people dreamed of, but with a dream and persistence of saving lives, he became a master of inheriting Chinese medicine.
