/kloc-0 was born in September, 1986, joined the army in September, 2005, and joined China in February, 2006. He is a fourth-class astronaut of the Astronaut Brigade of the China People's Liberation Army and holds the rank of colonel. He used to be an associate professor at the Strategic Support Force Aerospace Engineering University.
In September, 2020, he was selected as the third batch of astronauts in China as a space flight engineer. In June 2022, he was selected as the crew of Shenzhou 16 manned mission. Zhu is the first doctoral astronaut trained by National University of Defense Technology and the first non-pilot professional astronaut in China.
On May 30, 2023, the Long March II F- 16 carrier rocket carrying the Shenzhou 16 manned spacecraft was successfully launched at Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. On the afternoon of the same day, the combination of Shenzhou 16 manned spacecraft and space station successfully achieved autonomous rapid rendezvous and docking, and the Shenzhou 16 astronauts entered the orbital module from the spacecraft return module and entered the "Tiangong".
Personal life
Zhu was born in Zhudazhuang Village, Datun Street, Pei County. His parents made a living by farming in their early years. Although his family is poor, he works hard to support his three sons who are studying. Zhu is the eldest son of his family. Since he was 8 years old, he has been helping to herd sheep at home every day after school and reading books until dark.
There is an apple at home. Zhu will divide it into five parts, two for his parents and two for his brother. Zhu in the eyes of his parents loves learning and is sensible and progressive. After entering senior high school, he previewed his lessons for the next day every day, sometimes studying 12 at night and getting up early as usual the next day.
