According to historical records, Dayi Bridge was built in the early years of Zhenyuan in Tang Dynasty (785). Originally a wooden structure, it was named "Zhengen Bridge". It has a history of 1200 years. In the eighth year of Southern Song Dynasty (1 172), Zheng 'en Bridge was destroyed by flood, and Zhao Wei, a citizen of the city, took the lead in donating money to rebuild it. Renamed "Wan 'an Bridge".
In the third year of Shaoxi in the Southern Song Dynasty (2 1 19), it was rebuilt due to water damage and renamed as "Dayi Bridge". First, to commemorate the contribution made by the freshman Zen master to the construction of this bridge; The second is to show your name with righteousness and wealth. Later generations also followed this practice.
In the sixth year of Qingganlong (174 1), Dayi Bridge was destroyed by fire, and a stone arch bridge was built when it was rebuilt, all made of granite. In the seventh year of Tongzhi (1868), the water resumed, and Tao Tingyi, the magistrate of a county, presided over the water resumption.

The bridge is divided into three parts: the bridge foundation and the bridge pavilion. The arch of the bridge is exquisite and scientific, and the bridge body is granite from bottom to top. Eight piers are arched along the direction of water flow, which can effectively alleviate the impact of the rushing river on the piers and has the characteristics of the South Bridge.
The bridge deck is paved with bluestone and granite, which is huge and flat, and the bridge railings are made of bluestone. A monument pavilion will be built in the center of the bridge deck, engraved with the list of people who donated money to build the bridge as a permanent memorial.
Today, the Dayi Bridge is still strong, and most of the main parts of the bridge maintain their historical features, and the preservation environment is also good. It is an important transportation facility connecting the production and life of people on both sides of the strait.

According to local people, during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Qianshan County was an important throat for northern Fujian to enter Jiangxi and Zhejiang, and Dayi Bridge was the only place to pass, so it carried a heavy history. Countless goods, people and unicycles pass through this ancient bridge.
In 1930s, when the simple highway from Hekou to Shitang was opened to traffic, cars passed the Dayi Bridge, which became an important bridge on Anhui-Anhui Road in Fujian, Jiangxi and Anhui. It was not until 1952 Yongping Highway Bridge was completed that Dayi Bridge got rid of the rolling of car wheels, but it was still the main road for cross-strait traffic.
1950 The government allocated special funds to strengthen the Dayi Bridge. 199 1 year, Fu Xizhai, Zhan and others generously donated money, raised funds everywhere, repaved the bridge deck with bluestone slats, and rebuilt the Guanyin Pavilion in the bridge.

The ancient Dayi Bridge bears a heavy history, and there are many legends, the most vivid of which is the "throwing treasures to build a bridge" by the monk Dayi. "Freshman" is the legal name of the abbot of Ehufeng Temple in Zhenyuan in Tang Dynasty.
According to legend, during Zhenyuan period of Tang Dynasty, Mutong River in the north of Yongping Town was very wide, and people inside and outside the county town could not cross the river by punting in flood season, which brought great inconvenience to people's travel, so Dayi raised funds to build a bridge. At that time, a wooden bridge with stone piers was built, that is, a stone pier was built first, and then wooden beams and bridge slabs were laid on the stone pier.
The docks were built one after another from south to north. The first seven docks were built smoothly, but when the last dock was built,
After everyone's efforts, the eighth pier was built again. The Zen master and his men spent the night at the dock. It was dawn, and I saw the pier shaking a little. Just then, the Zen master quickly threw the cornucopia into the water, only to see a stream of black water spewing out of the river. The pier stabilized immediately, and the bridge was successfully built.

In recent years, Hengzhen government has paid for the decoration of lamps. Six lampposts stand on one side of the bridge deck, and each lamppost has a tall palace lantern. The railings and arches on both sides of the bridge and the Guanyin Pavilion in the bridge are decorated with colored lights.
At night, overlooking the river, the bridge is hidden and brightly lit. Two parallel lines flowing with brilliance connect the two banks, and nine huge colorful rotating rings in the middle are dazzling, making the ancient bridge more youthful and colorful.
Now, although Yongping Highway Bridge has been built in the town instead of Dayi Bridge to undertake the task of connecting Fujian and Jiangxi provinces, Dayi Bridge is still the main road to communicate with residents on both sides of the strait.
