He walked all the way from the director of Guizhou Shuicheng Power Plant, the production director of the Provincial Electric Power Bureau and the director of Qingzhen Power Plant until he became the deputy director of Guizhou Electric Power Bureau and was promoted to the director. Guizhou Electric Power Bureau was changed into Guizhou Electric Power Company (i.e. Guizhou Power Grid Company of China Southern Power Grid) in the electricity reform, and Xiang Dehong was appointed as the general manager.
