"GB" stands for national mandatory standards;

"GB/T" stands for national recommended standard.

Milk wine is mainly brewed and drunk by nomadic people in northern China. From the ancient Xiongnu, Donghu, Wuhuan and Xianbei to the present Mongolian, Kirgiz and Ewenki nationalities, they are very good at brewing milk wine. In the Yuan Dynasty, the Mongols regarded koumiss as the most important drink. The court of the Yuan Dynasty and the king of Mongolia had a group of people who specialized in brewing koumiss. In addition to drinking it yourself, koumiss is also used for banquets, entertaining guests, giving gifts to ministers and offering sacrifices.

Most of the milk wine seen in the market is made of milk. The national standard GB/T 23546 divides milk wine into fermented milk wine and distilled milk wine.
