First of all, I want to share with you the fact that it has happened in recent years and will continue to happen. That is, colleges and universities are enrolling more and more students, leaving fewer and fewer places for graduate students. Then why is this happening? Leaders in colleges and universities are not stupid. They must have their reasons for doing so. If we think about this reason clearly, maybe we can understand this problem.
Baoyan relies on the efforts of the first three years (that is, six semesters). Bao Yan's success shows that the student has no major problems in self-discipline. In addition, Bao Yan also needs an interview. Being able to pass the interview, not only the exam, but more importantly, improvise and expound opinions. Then the overall quality of this student is ok.
On the other hand, there must be a reason why graduate students didn't get graduate places. It may be because the undergraduate schools are not very good, the number of graduate students is small (note that many schools discriminate against undergraduate schools), or there are many places but they have not worked hard to win them, so they have lost to graduate students in self-discipline learning. Moreover, there are few subjects for postgraduate entrance examination. Take our mathematics major as an example, only two courses are required for postgraduate entrance examination, namely, mathematical analysis and advanced algebra. Even if the score is high, it only means that mathematical analysis and advanced algebra are good, but it does not mean that your functional analysis, ordinary differential equations, real variable functions and complex variable functions are good. Graduate students can keep their jobs because the level of these subjects is not bad. In this respect, the instructors are not bad.
The above is only the situation of most students, of course, other situations are not excluded. It is entirely possible that graduate students did not study hard after graduate school, and there are many who came from behind after graduate school. There is no absolute conclusion. My roommate is a high school student in Hengshui, and she is still failing the exam and even repeating the grade. Learning this matter depends on your own efforts. No matter how brilliant you used to be, whether it is Hengshui or Baoyan, it doesn't mean that you will continue to be strong in the future.
