On June 28th, 2009, the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics of Central South University was formed by the integration of related advantageous disciplines such as School of Information Science and Engineering, School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, School of Materials Science and Engineering and Powder Metallurgy Research Institute of Central South University. The Institute of Continuing Education, formerly known as the Institute of Adult Education, is a second-level teaching unit established in universities specializing in adult education, short-term training and other academic and non-academic education. Its level is the same as other secondary colleges in schools such as Law School and School of Economics and Management, and it is a branch of the university. With the continuous progress of society, the continuous reform of education and the continuous expansion of adult education, the original forms of adult education can no longer meet the needs of society. At present, the college of continuing education in universities is mainly engaged in adult education, self-study examination, distance network education and short-term training, which is an important part of higher education.
