Player qualification
Athletes participating in the competition must be citizens of People's Republic of China (PRC), and in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Ministry of Education on the unified entrance examination and admission of ordinary colleges and universities across the country (as well as relevant special enrollment policies), the college admissions committee (office) of the university where the candidates are located will assess and enroll the college students (register with the College Student Department of the Ministry of Education).
All registered athletes must be 18-28 years old, and they must not be over 22 years old when they enter the university (junior college or undergraduate course) (starting from 20 13, freshmen must not be over 20 years old).

The league takes the academic year of national colleges and universities as a season, and adopts the inter-annual competition system, which is divided into three stages: provincial competition, regional competition and finals.
CUFL (China University Football League) was founded in 2000, sponsored by China University Sports Association and China Football Association, and assisted by the education departments (education committees) of all provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government, university (student) sports associations and football branch of China University Sports Association. This tournament is the football league with the widest participation, the highest competitive level and the greatest influence in China, and it is also the only national 1 1 college football league officially recognized by China University Sports Association.
