The education of landscape architecture in Tsinghua University began with 195 1 the "Landscape Architecture Group" jointly established by Tsinghua University Department of Architecture, Beijing Agricultural University and Beijing Municipal Government Construction Bureau. It is the first complete discipline of landscape architecture in China. In 2003, the Department of Landscape Architecture was established in the School of Architecture of Tsinghua University. Professor Laurie Olin, an academician of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and former head of the Department of Landscape Architecture of Harvard University and University of Pennsylvania, was the first department head, and Professor Yang Rui was the executive vice department head. Since 2008, Professor Yang Rui has been transferred to the department head.

2. Beijing Forestry University

The School of Landscape Architecture, founded in 195 1, is the birthplace of modern landscape architecture education in China. In the field of landscape architecture in China, our school has produced three academicians of China Academy of Engineering, the first winner of the highest prize in the world landscape architecture in Asia (Sir IFLA Jellick Award), the first authority of international registration of plant varieties in China, and the first IFLA.

Tongji University Landscape Architecture is the first educational institution in Chinese mainland to recruit undergraduate, master and doctoral students majoring in landscape architecture. Since the establishment of 1952, it has always been at the forefront of discipline innovation and professional education development, and has made important contributions to the promotion and dissemination of China's landscape architecture culture, the construction of China's ecological civilization and the vigorous development of China's landscape architecture.
