Xilingol Vocational College is located in Xilinhot, which is known as the "Pearl of Grassland". It is a public full-time comprehensive higher vocational college approved by the People's Government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and filed by the Ministry of Education.

After years of development, it has grown into a comprehensive ethnic college featuring Mongolian and Chinese bilingual teaching, integrating the coordinated development of medical care, mechanical power, coal chemical industry, grassland ecology, animal husbandry and veterinary medicine, ethnic art and sports, focusing on higher vocational education and undertaking higher vocational undergraduate education.

College, Jilin University and Inner Mongolia Normal University jointly recruit in-service master of engineering and master of education.

Co-organized electrical engineering and automation, energy and power engineering with Inner Mongolia University of Technology, and cooperated with Inner Mongolia Medical University, Inner Mongolia Normal University, Inner Mongolia Agricultural University and Chifeng College to set up eight undergraduate majors, including Mongolian medicine, preschool education (Mongolian and Chinese), sports (football), food quality and safety, and nursing.
