China Three Gorges University was approved by the Ministry of Education on May 25th, 2000, and was formed by the merger of former Wuhan University of Water Resources and Electric Power (Yichang) and former Hubei Three Gorges University. Jointly built by the Ministry of Water Resources and Hubei Province, it was selected as the second batch of "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Plan" of the Ministry of Education and "National First-class University" of Hubei Province.

By the end of 20 17 and 12, the school had 2 national scientific research stations, 7 provincial key laboratories, 2 former key laboratories of State Power Corporation, 12 provincial engineering technology research centers, 12 provincial school-enterprise R&D centers and 1 provincial collaborative innovation centers.

20 17 12 approved by the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, hosted by the Three Gorges University, and officially published by the Hubei Provincial Department of Education. The purpose of running the journal is: based on Yichang, facing the whole country, reflecting the level of medical and health scientific research in Bachu area, strengthening the dissemination and exchange of medical science and technology with domestic and foreign countries, serving the health of the people in the central and western regions and improving the level of medical technology in the central and western regions.
