Ezhou University is located in Ezhou, a municipality directly under the Central Government of Hubei Province, only 38 kilometers away from Wuhan, the provincial capital. Ezhou, known as Wuchang in ancient times, was built here by Sun Quan, the king of Wu during the Three Kingdoms period, and is the hometown of Wuchang fish at home and abroad. The school has convenient transportation and beautiful environment, and is located in Lianhua Mountain with beautiful scenery in the urban area. With lush trees, lakes and mountains, towering historic sites and flowers, the campus is one of the few landscape schools in the province. 1995 10, Zhu Kaixuan, then director of the State Education Commission, praised this place as a good place to study and educate people. In September 2000, Tomur Dawamat, Vice Chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee (NPCSC), wrote an inscription when he visited the university, which brought a vibrant and energetic Ezhou University into the new century.
Ezhou College was founded in 1984, which was formed by the merger of Ezhou Vocational College, Ezhou Education College and Ezhou Radio and TV University. It was one of the 1035 national public universities with higher education enrollment qualifications at that time. The school covers an area of nearly 2,000 mu, with a building area of more than 280,000 square meters and a library of more than 800,000 books. The school has a campus network with bandwidth of 1000m, standard track and field, training hall and swimming pool. It also has a national 4A-level tourist attraction, Lotus Mountain, a high-standard academic exchange center and a reception center, Lotus Mountain Villa. The school has reached the basic requirements of an undergraduate college with a population of 8,000, and is actively preparing for the establishment of Ezhou City College.
The school now has five colleges (namely, School of Architecture and Mechanical Engineering, School of Electronic and Information Engineering, School of Education, School of Medical Sciences and School of Economics) and six scientific research units (namely, Institute of Mechanical Technology, Research Center of Landscape Design of Chu People, Research Center of Eastern and Western Cultures, Research Institute of Modern and Contemporary Literature, Research Institute of Medicine and Research Institute of Higher Education). At present, there are 47 full-time teachers1person, including doctoral and master students 109, professors 2 1 person and associate professors 89. More than 30 well-known scholars from Tsinghua University, Wuhan University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology and South Australia University were hired as part-time professors, and Zhu, a famous educator, was honorary president. The school has excellent teachers and advanced teaching facilities.
There are more than 8,000 full-time college students. According to the spirit of relevant documents of Hubei Provincial Department of Education, outstanding junior college students, after being selected by the school and admitted by the unified college entrance examination organized by our province, can enter the corresponding majors of provincial undergraduate colleges to continue their studies and obtain the general undergraduate diploma and bachelor's degree. At present, the school offers 33 majors and enrolls students nationwide every year.
The school also cooperates with Lincoln University in the United States and the University of South Australia in Australia. Students and graduates can continue their studies in relevant schools, and those who meet the requirements can obtain degrees in related majors of corresponding schools. The school has established a stable and friendly cooperative relationship with universities such as the University of South Australia, and sends international students and visiting scholars to each other for academic exchanges every year. One newspaper and one publication of the school were approved by the State Press and Publication Administration for public distribution in the whole country, and Journal of Ezhou University was rated as the first batch of national excellent journals implemented by CAJCD and the national excellent journals of local universities. School teachers publish more than 300 papers in public journals at or above the provincial level every year, and some scientific research achievements have won provincial and ministerial awards.
Since its establishment, the school has trained tens of thousands of senior applied talents with college education or above for the country. In recent years, the school has signed employment agreements with many large companies in Shanghai, Wuhan, Shenzhen, Suzhou and other big cities, and the annual one-time employment rate of graduates is over 89%. Graduates are all over the country, and a small number of students apply to the United States, Japan and other countries, which are very popular with employers.
