Southwest Petroleum University 1958 was born in Nanchong. It is the second petroleum undergraduate college established in New China. In 2000, Southwest Petroleum University was placed under the local government and became an institution of higher learning funded by the central and local governments and mainly managed by the Sichuan Provincial People's Government.
