In 20 17, Nanjing Institute of Communication (formerly Nanguang College of Communication University of China) established the first undergraduate e-sports college in China, which was equipped with art and technology (e-sports game planning and design) and broadcasting and hosting (e-sports commentary and anchor). It is the first college in the world specializing in e-sports brand design, interpretation of e-sports events, event operation and team management.
In many people's impression, e-sports is equivalent to games, so e-sports major is often misunderstood as the major of learning how to play games. But in fact, the e-sports major mainly trains talents who serve the e-sports industry. For example, training coaches for e-sports teams, training game design and marketing talents for e-sports manufacturers, and training anchors, hosts or e-sports industry reporters for e-sports media.
