Xiamen University for the Aged was established in April 2004 with the approval of Xiamen Municipal Committee. 1985. The school aims to "increase knowledge, enrich life, cultivate sentiment, improve quality, improve health and serve the society". After more than 20 years of development, it has formed a multi-level, multi-disciplinary and multi-degree education and teaching system, and has become a comprehensive pension institution that enjoys a certain reputation in society and has begun to take shape.

The school is located in the center of the city, with an area of 257 1 m2 and a building area of 6390 m2. The teaching building is divided into building A and building B, with a total of 18 classrooms, and special classrooms for computers, digital pianos, painting and calligraphy, cooking and photography, which can accommodate more than 1000 students every day. The teaching building also has a multi-functional lecture hall, library, student works exhibition hall, rehearsal hall, karaoke hall, reception room, honor room and communication room. More than 300 square meters of green space on campus is equipped with fitness equipment for students' recreation.
